This young couple has suffered a loss that no parent should have to go through.  They have started a non-profit orginization in honor of Maddie called Friends of Maddie.   Friends of Maddie help families with babies in the NICU and until the end of the babies hospital stay.

You can help support these families by going  to  http://friendsofmaddie.org/ So go donate now you could even win a Dell Mini 10″ Netbook.

Kyboo attempts a post…

Kyboo at the computer

Boo on the computer.

So I was going to let Kyboo do this post for me today. I have been so tired, we have been really busy with Bible School at our church.  Chicken has really enjoyed VBS but it’s just been a lot of work.  I have had little time to post so when Kyboo said she would post something for me I  jumped at her offer. After all who doesn’t want to hear what a 20 month old has to say.  But come to find out Kyboo had an ulterior motive for getting on the computer.  When I came back to check on her I found her on Tweetdeck an application for Twitter. She even sent me a Direct Message  here it is: Leprakans: Hjjiiiilÿÿÿimnnkipnm

Not really sure what it means yet I am still trying to decipher it. Maybe it is some unknown language that only toddlers know.  Anyway she never got around to posting anything maybe next time she won’t spend so much time on Twitter.  Sigh oh well like mother like daughter.

My Chickens…

When we decided to have a second baby as soon as we found out it was going to be a girl we started using her name.  So early on Mason would point to my tummy and say  ” Baby Kyra”

Mason and Boo as babies

I was not really sure how he would react to to a sibling but when she came he called her ” his baby”.

Baby Kyboo and Mason

Sometimes she was not so sure about this.

But he loved her from the beginning.

For a while it was really hard having a 2 year old and a new baby… I know Mason felt the change, babies take up more time. But at least at the time daycare was a constant for him he had the same teachers and his little classmates.  But that changed when I quit my job to stay home full time.  The adjustments were hard for both of us. I was suddenly with a toddler and a baby all day and he was without his little playmates.  He would  get frustrated sometimes that Kyboo could not play with him, he would try talking to her and then ask me why she would not talk back.  But as she grew they became closer. And in the past six months they have really interacted more  and it’s been so neat to see them  start to play together.

Boo and Mason

She adores her older brother she wants to do whatever he does. She dragged this chair over to sit right next to him.

It’s been so cute to see her try and be the little mommy to him when he cries or is sad she will rub his back and go “ohhh” it’s so sweet. Don’t get me wrong they fight and the sibling rivalry is really starting to crank up.

But I am so glad we have our Chickens……

Our 4th of July weekend…

Well we had a great 4th of July we decided to celebrate it with just our little family.  We didn’t do anything extremely exciting but just being together was fun. It was the first year that Kyboo could really appreciate the fireworks and all the goings on.  We all slept in and I fixed a yummy breakfast of home made sausage biscuits it beat Hardees’ any day!   We went to see “Up” it was such a cute movie. It had enough adult humor to keep our attention and enough kids stuff to keep Chicken. Kyboo slept through most of the movie yeah!

Mason and Kyboo

After the movie we went to get some McDonald’s which I blame on one of my Twitter friends because he mentioned McD’s. The Chickens ate with gusto and played on the playground. It’s really neat to see Chicken and Kyboo  play together so well.

Chicken...

After we gorged ourselves on yummy McD’s an American tradition we went home to vedge for a while.  Watched some tv and the Chickens ate more healthy food..

Chickens eating Donuts.

donuts!  This is Kyboo hamming it up.  So after hanging out at home for a while we decided to brave downtown. There were so many people there we had to park  way out but we found free parking which is hard to find when they are having events downtown.  We ditched the stroller I put Kyboo in my sling Ben had Chicken and we headed out.  We ended up having a lot of fun Kyboo was not quite sure what to think of all the people I think it’s the first time she has been in such a crowded area.

Picture 2

We got to see Mac Arnold perform  I loved his music.

Picture 4Then we saw some awesome fireworks downtown near the Reedy River. Chicken really liked them Kyboo was not scared but she was more interested in watching the other people’s reaction then watching the fireworks.

IMG_1246Then we finished the night at Sonic a regular hangout for the Moffets. Kyboo had just heard a firework go off and was a little dazed in this picture. All in all it was a great day!
