Last week we went to the park with our church’s playgroup.  When it was time to leave Boo was walking with her friend Landon to the car and they were holding hands. It was too sweet!

So of course I had to take lots of pictures.  Good black mail for when they are teenagers. =-)

It’s no secret that on Saturdays we are uber lazy. We lay around in our pajamas until noon. The Chickens enjoy their daddy being home. I enjoy them bugging him instead of me.

I was sitting at the breakfast table enjoying a cup of coffee by myself when Boo comes in and asks to play one of her favorite games she calls It the “restaurant game”. It consists of her pretending she is a customer at a restaurant.

This mornings special was coffee {apple juice} and Hershey’s speckled eggs.

I would say the customer was satisfied with what was served:)

What can I say about Boo. She is her own person. She is a southpaw and quite the little artist like her daddy. She loves drawing people her current fascination is the face she will draw huge eyes complete with pupils. She can entertain herself for hours on end with one little doll or nothing at all. I have seen her play “house” with just her fingers being the people while she is waiting.

She is very girly except when it comes to eating. I have NEVER seen a messier eater not even her brother. She is serious about her food too. We will all be done eating and Boo will still be sitting at the table methodically eating. Not much can distract her from her food. She has been known to out eat her brother.

She loves her Churchy as she calls him. She will love on that cat but does not like him to sleep with her. Although he desperately wants too. He will stand outside her bedroom door sometimes and cry but shes adamant she does not want him in her room at night.

She is starting to be fiercely independent she wants to do everything herself. Which makes me sad because my baby is growing up. She loves baby dolls and playing house but you can tell she has an older brother because she can wield a sword with the best of em.

She’s our Boo and we love her.

It’s fun having a sidekick…. =-)

This was one of the questions Boo asked me last night when I went in to kiss her goodnight. She loves to sit and “talk” before she goes to bed… As I mentioned yesterday I want to teach the Chickens the true meaning of Christmas. So I was asking Boo who’s birthday we celebrate at Christmas?

She said,” Abbi?” We just celebrated her cousins birthday last week.

I told her no I said it’s Jesus birthday. So we talked about that and how Jesus can come in your heart if you ask him too.

And then she said, ” Well God came out of my heart. He had to go to Ingles and get milk and eggs and chicken for Jesus because he is hungry.”

I tried not to laugh because she was serious. That is when she asked does God have babies? I said that he has one son Jesus. She seemed satisfied with that answer.

Then she asked, ” Does Jesus like his birthday candles?”

But our Chicken was not shy and we quickly found out we were having a boy. And just like that we were over the moon about having a boy.

So when I got pregnant the second time I was so in love with my little boy that I wanted another one. I did not want a girl. In my mind I had no clue how to raise a little girl. Girls were full of drama and whiny and high maintenance. Why would I want to deal with that?

But when we went for our ultrasound, it was a girl. Funny how whatever you get ends up being exactly what you want.

From the moment Boo came out we had a special connection. I got to hold her as soon as she came out, with Chicken I had to wait a good twenty minutes before I got to hold him because they were busy sewing me up. But with Boo I remember telling the doctor please don’t put her on my stomach after she comes out. I had watched all The Baby Story shows on TLC and seen them put the bloody baby right on the mother’s tummy so she could hold it right away.

The thought of all the blood and other stuff was gross to me because Chicken was all wiped down and bundled up when I got to hold him the first time. So I was comparing it to that. I wanted my little girl to be all clean and swaddled the first time I held her.

But when she came out what did the doctor do? She put her right on my tummy and I remember thinking ewww.

But then she cried… and all of a sudden it didn’t matter that she was bloody and not swaddled. She was my baby and I loved her instantly! It’s a feeling and a love that you can’t even describe.

And having a girl has been so much fun. We giggle about stuff now that she talks and we love to snuggle. It’s so much fun to have another little person that likes things that you like. Who likes the color pink and does not feel the need to wrestle all the time.

I love Chicken to death, but there is just something about little girls.

Here is Boo painting. I love the way she calls brown, chocolate. She has an Air Bender tattoo on her forehead she kept calling it her “princess”. Mason had one so she had to have one too. I think she is taking after Ben with her artistic talent.

And the video below is Chicken being his charming self. We made this video to send to Ben to show him what we were working on in school. Chicken’s expressions crack me up in this one. He is so busy watching himself he is not really paying attention to what he is saying. Needless to say it’s never a dull moment around here. Sorry for the shaky camera, on this one the camera was being held by a Chicken.

So we are daddy less for 4 days and 3 nights.  I hate being alone  the Chickens hardly count as a whole person so I am basically by myself. If God forbid there is a spider or water emergency while Ben is gone I am the go to person… sigh.   When Ben is gone which thankfully is not very often anymore I can’t go to sleep until I am exhausted otherwise I will just lay in bed listening to all the night noises and the creaking of my big old house and get thoroughly scared.  Now I am not a shining example on how to raise kids. I frequently let them watch things they shouldn’t, eat cake for breakfast and let them stay up WAY to late we are by nature night owls and our kids tend to be the same way.  And last night was no exception we all stayed up to late….

This was Boo telling me she was ready for bed (although this is how I feel at the thought of Ben being gone so long).

And this was Chicken trying to tell me he was not ready for bed….(sorry for the fuzziness it’s my crappy iphone 3g)

We settled down for a good snuggle on the sofa while watching The Incredibles until we were so sleepy we could barely hold our eyes open.  We finally headed upstairs got teeth brushed and Chickens down.  They were out in a second but I still could not go to sleep until after 1:30…. I just don’t sleep well when Ben isn’t home…. only 3 days and 2 nights to go……
