Today was over cast and a great day to just take things slowly.  Plus it was our last day of

school before Christmas break.  Chicken did great on his reading.  I am so proud of him!

After supper we went to Grandma’s and got some flour and said goodbye.  She and

dad are going away for the weekend just to rest and get away.  They are exhausted from

all the running around  they did when my sister and niece were here for two weeks.

Over the weekend my mom got a new washer and dryer.  Chicken found the washer

particularly fascinating as you could watch it while it washed the clothes.  Our

washer is not that fancy.

This morning as me and the Chickens were snuggling in bed Boo announced that 
she wanted pancakes with holes in them for breakfast.  I asked her if she meant
waffles? She said oh yes waffles.  So we decided to whip up a 
batch this morning. I had two great helpers.

We even tried a new recipe Oatmeal waffles  because Mason said regular waffles
was to boring. They sure were yummy.

After we  finished school we headed over to my mom’s for lunch with all my
sisters and a  last visit with my sister Brenda before she heads home.
She lives in Canada
and we don’t get to see her very often. The last time was three years ago
so it was great getting to visit with her and my niece Chasity 
for the last two weeks.

I found this adorable envelope pictured above in the tree. Ben showed Mason over the weekend how to draw monsters.  He is doing quite well.
