Daddy is 2…

Mason and I sang Happy Birthday to Boo the morning of her actual birthday and yes we had birthday cake for breakfast.
So Kyra turned two this past Monday…and if you ask her how old she is she will say “two.” But now she thinks everyone is “two”. So we had this interesting conversation at breakfast the other day….
I asked her how old she was and she said, “two.” Then I asked her how old is daddy and she said “two”.. This is when Mason chimed in, ” No, Kyra, Daddy is not two he is three.” He said this with confidence. I told him that Daddy wasn’t three so Mason questioned, ” Is he four mommy? Or is he five?”
Ah to be young again… =-)
Trick or Treat

Well this year we took Batman and a Princess trick or treating. It was quite exciting this year we got caught in the rain. It had cleared up nicely when we set out but a little half way through it started to rain and I don’t mean a drizzle. But the kids were troopers and did not seem to mind… the need for candy was a huge driving force. Even Boo had no interest in riding in the car with daddy as he followed us around from house to house. He opened the tail gate on the jeep and let all the cousins pile in between stops. The saying must be true “the more the merrier” because we sure had fun with all the cousins that were able to come. There were six in all Reed, Abbi, Madison, Ansley, Hallah and Katie. I know the Chickens greatly enjoyed the company.

The Cousins
The process of picking out costumes this year was a little bit of an adventure too. First Mason was going to be a Fireman he already had the costume from a dress up birthday party he had been invited to, but then he got it into his head that he was definitely going to be Batman. We spent quite a bit of time trying to convince him of the coolness factor of a fireman but firemen don’t wear capes and I think that was a big factor playing in his desire to be Batman. So of course being the spoiled chicken that he is we began our search for a Batman costume. This must of been a very popular costume this year because every store we looked in did not have it in his size. But we finally found one after much searching at Walmart and it was the last one. After we got home and tried it on it was a bit big so I had to practically take it apart and then put it back together again just to make it fit properly… ah the things we do for our kids. I remember my mom spending hours on one costume when I was little and now I especially appreciate the time she put into it. But the end result looked great and he was so excited and that made it all worth it. And besides Batman has been more then generous with his Halloween loot!

I really need to start packing….
I really need to start packing… I have boxes and tape sitting in the corner of the living room waiting for me to start. But I just don’t have the motivation, every morning I get up I really mean to start packing but somehow it does not get done. TODAY I really will pack some boxes I promise! Now hold me to it and I will report back tomorrow.
It really does not help that I am in the middle of potty training a 21 month old. I know what was I thinking? We have had some success but since she is running around completely naked you have to make sure there are no accidents on the floor.
On another note Mason is obsessed with watching the “The Wizard of Oz” and playing with Lego’s. He wants to watch the movie at least once a day and drags his Lego’s out which he dumps all over the floor to play with while he watches ” the Wizard of Boz”. So now I have “We’re off to see the wizard” stuck in my head as I trip on Lego’s those suckers can really hurt your feet.
So that is what my days have been filled with lately Lego’s, naked biscuits and the need to pack looming over me all to the sound track of ” We’re off to see the Wizard the Wonderful Wizard of Oz!” Now if I could click my heals and be packed just like that. =-)

Potty training..

Ah she looks so innocent right? Or rather she looks like she knows what she is doing right? Well I have probably bitten off more then I can chew. I am trying to potty train Kyboo it seemed like a good idea. We are moving in about three weeks and where we are moving to the wooden floors have just been refinished and I did not relish the thought of potty training Boo on those pretty wooden floors. I let em run around naked when they potty train so accidents do happen.
Where we currently live we have all concrete floors which makes clean up really easy. But the real kicker is Kyboo is only 21 months old. So she could be to young. I know other toddlers have been potty trained this young and girls are “supposed” to be easier to potty train. I just don’t know how it will go with Boo we are only on day two. She has not done to bad so far. The first day she peed in the potty once and tried to poop once and only had three accidents. But she has not started to really to run to the potty by herself and pee. I plan on holing up in the house for four or five days and see what progress she makes. If she is not getting it we can always go back to diapers but I hope we don’t have too.
Kyboo and the Sourcream
This is Kyboo eating supper last night she was being really quite and I went to check on her she was painting her arm with the sourcream!
Kyboo attempts a post…

Boo on the computer.
So I was going to let Kyboo do this post for me today. I have been so tired, we have been really busy with Bible School at our church. Chicken has really enjoyed VBS but it’s just been a lot of work. I have had little time to post so when Kyboo said she would post something for me I jumped at her offer. After all who doesn’t want to hear what a 20 month old has to say. But come to find out Kyboo had an ulterior motive for getting on the computer. When I came back to check on her I found her on Tweetdeck an application for Twitter. She even sent me a Direct Message here it is: Leprakans: Hjjiiiilÿÿÿimnnkipnm
Not really sure what it means yet I am still trying to decipher it. Maybe it is some unknown language that only toddlers know. Anyway she never got around to posting anything maybe next time she won’t spend so much time on Twitter. Sigh oh well like mother like daughter.
My Chickens…
When we decided to have a second baby as soon as we found out it was going to be a girl we started using her name. So early on Mason would point to my tummy and say ” Baby Kyra”

I was not really sure how he would react to to a sibling but when she came he called her ” his baby”.

Sometimes she was not so sure about this.

But he loved her from the beginning.
For a while it was really hard having a 2 year old and a new baby… I know Mason felt the change, babies take up more time. But at least at the time daycare was a constant for him he had the same teachers and his little classmates. But that changed when I quit my job to stay home full time. The adjustments were hard for both of us. I was suddenly with a toddler and a baby all day and he was without his little playmates. He would get frustrated sometimes that Kyboo could not play with him, he would try talking to her and then ask me why she would not talk back. But as she grew they became closer. And in the past six months they have really interacted more and it’s been so neat to see them start to play together.

She adores her older brother she wants to do whatever he does. She dragged this chair over to sit right next to him.

It’s been so cute to see her try and be the little mommy to him when he cries or is sad she will rub his back and go “ohhh” it’s so sweet. Don’t get me wrong they fight and the sibling rivalry is really starting to crank up.

But I am so glad we have our Chickens……
and I am so glad they have each other….
Our 4th of July weekend…
Well we had a great 4th of July we decided to celebrate it with just our little family. We didn’t do anything extremely exciting but just being together was fun. It was the first year that Kyboo could really appreciate the fireworks and all the goings on. We all slept in and I fixed a yummy breakfast of home made sausage biscuits it beat Hardees’ any day! We went to see “Up” it was such a cute movie. It had enough adult humor to keep our attention and enough kids stuff to keep Chicken. Kyboo slept through most of the movie yeah!

After the movie we went to get some McDonald’s which I blame on one of my Twitter friends because he mentioned McD’s. The Chickens ate with gusto and played on the playground. It’s really neat to see Chicken and Kyboo play together so well.
After we gorged ourselves on yummy McD’s an American tradition we went home to vedge for a while. Watched some tv and the Chickens ate more healthy food..

donuts! This is Kyboo hamming it up. So after hanging out at home for a while we decided to brave downtown. There were so many people there we had to park way out but we found free parking which is hard to find when they are having events downtown. We ditched the stroller I put Kyboo in my sling Ben had Chicken and we headed out. We ended up having a lot of fun Kyboo was not quite sure what to think of all the people I think it’s the first time she has been in such a crowded area.

We got to see Mac Arnold perform I loved his music.
Then we saw some awesome fireworks downtown near the Reedy River. Chicken really liked them Kyboo was not scared but she was more interested in watching the other people’s reaction then watching the fireworks.
Then we finished the night at Sonic a regular hangout for the Moffets. Kyboo had just heard a firework go off and was a little dazed in this picture. All in all it was a great day!
