Round 2

Ben took today off too and we headed back to Pendleton.

20121020-003207.jpg

By the time we got done with Ashtabula yesterday and got to actually go into Pendleton everything was closing. So we decided to go back today and catch all the little antique shops.

20121020-003324.jpg

20121020-003350.jpg

Pendleton is such a quaint sleepy little town…

20121020-003501.jpg

We grabbed some lunch at a little cafe…

20121020-003531.jpg

We made silly faces while we waited for our food. They were quite crowded.

20121020-003603.jpg

But the food especially the dessert was definitely worth the wait.

20121020-003655.jpg

We went to all the little shops an we ran across some strange things like this tin. Note the swastika. I think the Chickens quite enjoyed it they kept wanting to show us neat things they found.

20121020-003819.jpg

We came home and tried to nap but it was hard because Leighton was about five inches from my face. I think she missed us.

20121020-003904.jpg

My sweet mother watched the Chickens so Ben & I could go out to dinner for my birthday. It was so nice to have adult conversation but we both commented on how we missed the little buggers.

20121020-004004.jpg

I saw this in one of the stores downtown. You certainly don’t see that everyday. I think they were having some kind of dress up thing.. We also ran into a hoard of zombies roaming the streets. I didn’t get a pic they were on the other side of the street but it was quite interesting. Come to find out it was the annual zombie walk. Who knew? Guess you run into those kind of things when you have a birthday in October !

The Best Birthday

Today is my 34th birthday…

20121018-222213.jpg

I was woken up by the Chickens coming in our room and dropping a pile of presents on my bed. They wrapped them by themselves .. The Christmas paper and painters tape was the best.. I think I need to buy some wrapping paper and more scotch tape.

20121018-222450.jpg

From Boo… she said she picked it out because I looked at it a lot when we went to the store.

20121018-222650.jpg

20121018-222703.jpg

20121018-222715.jpg

My beautiful cards…

20121018-223008.jpg

My dear talented husband drew me a picture of the necklace he ordered from Lisa Leonard. He did not realize it took two weeks to come. But I was very happy with my card the time and talent it took means so much.

20121018-223250.jpg

20121018-223546.jpg

It was my choice what to do today so we went to Ashtabula an old plantation in Pendleton, SC.

20121018-223732.jpg

20121018-223746.jpg

I love all things old so I was in heaven! Poor Boo was a bit bored but she was a trooper . Chicken on the other hand found it fairly interesting . It totally counted as a field trip.

20121018-223953.jpg

He even got to try out and old corn shucker.. He loved that.

20121018-224253.jpg

20121018-224309.jpg

A Confederate rose.

20121018-224426.jpg

Boo & I giggling while we were supposed to be listening to the tour guide.

20121018-224632.jpg

20121018-224658.jpg

We stopped at a model store on the way home & Boo enjoyed playing with the train table. Chicken & Ben were busy looking at the model airplanes.

We ate supper with parents and enjoyed it so much. It was the best birthday and I am so thankful I got to spend it with my little family.:)

My heart melts

Today we hung out a lot… We were lazy played some Lego Harry Potter went to the dollar tree and Furman.

But this afternoon The Chickens got in a frenzy telling me to stay out of my bedroom they were working on something. There was tons of giggling and grabbing of tape… And “Mommy don’t come in.”

Then they told me to come they had a surprise!

20120801-235845.jpg

They had decorated the kitchen and wrapped me presents… Then they sang me a song. It was incredibly sweet.

20120802-000044.jpg

Then came the presents. Little treasures of theirs they were willing to share with their mommy. I think my favorite part was the marshmallows decorated with pink sprinkles.

20120802-000216.jpg

Then they disappeared into the pantry and made these marshmallow babies. When I asked them the occasion Mason said,” because you are the best mommy and always doing kind things for us.” Now if that does not melt your heart I don’t know what will.

Better….

Today was so much better….

20120515-210902.jpg

School went well …. Really well.

20120515-210931.jpg

20120515-210953.jpg

20120515-210958.jpg

We had a great play date at the park with some awesome friends.. Then picked a few things up at Walmart and of course we had to check out the toy aisle.

20120515-211116.jpg

20120515-211122.jpg

They have so much fun just looking at the toys.. And of course the added treat of getting something in the check out line is always exciting.

20120515-211233.jpg

20120515-211239.jpg

We ended the day with a yummy dessert… Yep it was a much better day… So thankful for do overs :)

Rough

Today was rough and seemed to last forever… School took longer then normal it was like pulling teeth.

I lost my patience somewhere along the way and had to apologize so many times… It’s hard being a mommy….

But tomorrow is a new day thank the Lord and I with his help will do better..

20120514-221236.jpg

Chicken acting silly tonight while we were at the store:)

Mother’s Day

Today was Mother’s Day and my day was wonderful! Mason has learned to make coffee this week and he knocked on the bathroom door this morning while I was getting ready and handed me a mug of coffee.

20120513-222327.jpg

And then he made me breakfast. What a sweet boy:)

20120513-223517.jpg

We had a wonderful church service this morning and then went out for lunch:)

20120513-224129.jpg

When we got home we had cheesecake . Mason wanted to put candles in the cheesecake and song Happy Mother’s Day … It was incredibly sweet.

20120513-225642.jpg

20120513-225655.jpg

Then they gave me their cards and my presents. They were so sweet and thoughtful. And thanks to my sweet husband for helping :)

20120513-225801.jpg

20120513-225824.jpg

We napped and then went to my moms later to see her…

20120513-230549.jpg

I ran into a fairy while I was there:)

20120513-230622.jpg

My wonderful Mother and Boo. It was a wonderful Mother’s Day:)

Nieces….

I haven’t seen my oldest niece in 5 1/2 years. She is more like my cousin instead of my niece we are only six years apart. The last time she saw Chicken he was only six months old and she had never met Boo. And my other two nieces I had not seen in 3 1/2 years.

But they finally got to visit this weekend! It was soo great to see them!

20120507-200904.jpg

20120507-200916.jpg

20120507-200925.jpg

20120507-201740.jpg

I am so glad the Chickens got to meet their cousins. We sat around and talked and drank coffee all day at my moms it was such a great time of fellowship and filling up on family love…

20120507-202925.jpg

My beautiful momma and three of her grandchildren:)

20120507-203113.jpg

Raising our coffee cups to grandma!

20120507-203230.jpg

Crazy cousins!

20120507-203534.jpg

My favorite pic:). I miss them already.

Our weekend…

We had a great weekend! We went strawberry picking and did some planting in the garden.

20120430-215129.jpg

But first we started out the morning with homemade blueberry scones.

20120430-215234.jpg

Boo ready to go pick strawberries!

20120430-215313.jpg

We picked four gallons! The Chickens were troopers and they did such a good job only picking ripe ones!

20120430-215424.jpg

Boo took this family portrait… She did a pretty good job.

20120430-215554.jpg

20120430-215604.jpg

When we got home we planted some herbs… Hoping they will do well so I can use them in cooking!

20120430-215702.jpg

20120430-215707.jpg

On Sunday Boo found a tiny box and Mason made it into a car for her.. She thought this was the greatest thing and pushed herself all around the house in it. How she fits in a box so small I don’t know.

20120430-220250.jpg

Mason and Ben spent sometime playing a game together.. I love this pic of them. Mason sure does love his daddy.

20120430-220348.jpg

And on a side note my pumpkins sprouted! So excited!
