Like my new earrings?

Kyboo's earrings.

So Kyboo got her ears pierced today… I know that a lot of people do not agree on getting babies or toddlers ears pierced.  I am not trying to debate that fact on this post. I am just sharing  our experience every family has to decide what is right for their little ones.  I for one was tired of people asking if Kyra was a boy.. I was just asked last month on our vacation to Atlanta. She was dressed from head to toe in purple (for Maddie) and we still got “oh he is so cute”.  Ahhh.  Another reason I decided to do it was because she was so young and I was hoping she would not mess with them. I got mine pierced  when I was 8 and I kept touching them and they became all red and were very sore.  So I asked my husband if I could get it done and he finally said “ok, but I can’t be there”.  He can’t stand to hear his little girl cry.

So we decided today would be a good day to do it.  Mason and Ben were going to a baseball game at the Greenville Drive.  We dropped our boys off and headed to the mall. We decided to go to the Piercing Pagoda the two girls at the counter were very nice and very informative and I felt comfortable having them do it.  They made over Kyboo saying what pretty eyes she had.   I decided on small gold studs for Boo and white gold studs for me since I was planning to get my ears pierced too.  I was not going to put Kyboo through the pain alone.  I had to go for a third hole because I already have a second one.

So when it was our turn to sit in the chair I sat Kyboo in my lap.  I got mine pierced first, and I have to say it hurt a lot less then any other piercing I have had after it was not even sore. Then it was Kyboo’s turn and yes she cried it was really hard for me when she did. But they gave her a lollipop and this is her happily crunching away a few minutes later.

Boo

She was such a trooper and did not even cry when I cleaned them before she went to bed, and she has not messed with them at all. When we picked our boys up Mason kept telling her that he liked her “new earrings”.  And her Daddy thought she was awefully pretty! Now when I dress her from head to toe in purple people should say, ” What a cute little girl.” =-)

She’s so gorgeous!! I love the new earrings. We had V’s done when she was only 4mths old and I’m so glad we did. We ran into the same thing as you – she could be dressed head-to-toe in pink with a pink blanket and they’d still ask how old ‘he’ was. Grrrr… Drove me nuts.

Ah thank you so much! I was not sure if I would regret it or not but I don’t she has done so well! Now hopefully no one will ask how “he” is doing! :)

Our girls were three when they had their ears pierced. Some people openly disagreed, but it wasn’t their decision. I just ignored them. She’s adorable, and the earrings just add a little sparkle.

Thank you! I think little girls with earrings are so cute! My mom was not happy at all about me getting it done. But I think she will like it once she sees her:)

Some people are just iggnorant. People ask me all the time how my little “girl” in head to toe camo is doing. LOL she looks cute and happy with her sucker!! You’ve just got to learn you’re raising them and as long as they are safe and loved other people can take their opinions and go some where else with them. I cleaned that up for your web viewers :-D

I have had that happen to me too and I am like what is up with that??? I had someone ask how old my “little girl” was talking about Mason and he was dressed head to toe in blue … so I know that feeling. Really I think some people just don’t even think. LOL But yes I agree you have to do what is right for you own children and I have learned to do that! =-) Thanks I think she does look cute with her little earrings. =-)
