“My tummy hurts”

Since last night was the start of the weekend we decided to do some running around and catch a quick bite to eat. We don’t eat out much ever since going down to one income so I could be at home full time we have cut way back on the eating out. But since it was Friday night we thought what the hey. So we threw everyone in the car and we were off. We decided to eat fast food because the Chickens were craving french fries…BIG MISTAKE.  I think I may never eat fast food again… Boo started grabbing her tummy during supper and saying ” my tummy hurts” but then she kept eating. I kept asking her if she was ok and she would say, “yes”  then say, ” my tummy hurts” typical 2 year old answers.  I thought maybe she had eaten to fast and that it would pass sometimes she will say her tummy hurts because she is hungry. But she kept grabbing at her little tummy and that is odd.  Boo is pretty tough when she falls down she rarely cries for long and takes bumps and bruises far better then her 4 year brother she is a tough little thing. So as the night progressed she started complaining more and more and by the time we got home she was grabbing her stomach and screaming I mean screaming, ” My tummy hurts my tummy hurts.”

I was freaking out by this time so I sent Ben to the store to get something anything to help, called my mom frantically and twittered asking what to do? My mom suggested Pepto Bismal and told me to have Ben ask the pharmacist. He told Ben to try Mylicon  he seemed to think it could be gas pains so he got that and child Pepto Bismal.  By the time Ben got home she had calmed down a lot but we still gave her the Pepto Bismal and Mylicon and both seemed to help pretty quickly.

This was Boo coloring shortly after daddy got home. Feeling much better.

I was so thankful that this episode passed fairly quickly because it scared me. Boo has never had this reaction to anything before and you never want to see your child in pain.  I want to thank  @flygirllovexxx and @GAFlygirl for their words of encouragement on twitter.  They both seemed to nail it as being gas it was nice to know I was not alone and to get advice so quickly. So I think the moral of the story is we will be avoiding fast food restaurants in the near future, keeping the  Mylicon handy and twitter any questions. =-)

Kyboo attempts a post…

Kyboo at the computer

Boo on the computer.

So I was going to let Kyboo do this post for me today. I have been so tired, we have been really busy with Bible School at our church.  Chicken has really enjoyed VBS but it’s just been a lot of work.  I have had little time to post so when Kyboo said she would post something for me I  jumped at her offer. After all who doesn’t want to hear what a 20 month old has to say.  But come to find out Kyboo had an ulterior motive for getting on the computer.  When I came back to check on her I found her on Tweetdeck an application for Twitter. She even sent me a Direct Message  here it is: Leprakans: Hjjiiiilÿÿÿimnnkipnm

Not really sure what it means yet I am still trying to decipher it. Maybe it is some unknown language that only toddlers know.  Anyway she never got around to posting anything maybe next time she won’t spend so much time on Twitter.  Sigh oh well like mother like daughter.

Hugh Jackman, Twitter and Maddie Spohr

It’s been a bit of a rough week and a rough day but I wanted to post something really quick today.  As many of you know I have been deeply touched by the passing of Maddie Spohr and have felt burdened for her family. I know I don’t personally know Mike and Heather Spoh but I have  been deeply touched by them both and of course by Maddie. It’s funny how you can feel like you get to know someone by reading their blog but that is how I have felt about this family. And I know that many of you have felt the same way. I see it on Twitter how there has been such an outpouring of love and support for this family.. I am new to Twitter and this has been really neat to see.

One thing that has happened in Twitterdom is that Hugh Jackman has said that he will donate 100k to one individual’s non profit charity, but he has to be convinced via Twitter. He is going to announce on the Ryan Seacrest show this Friday which charity he has chosen. Of course we would all love for him to choose March of Dimes in memory of Maddie. So Twitter has been alive with Retweets to @RealHughJackman for him to donate to March of Dimes.  We only have one more day left to try and convince him to donate in honor of Maddie Spohr please if you have a Twitter account  Retweet the following message:

RT @mamaspohr: RT @RealHughJackman PLEASE donate your $100k to March of Dimes in honor of my baby #Maddie http://tinyurl.com/dnewtk

Or click on the link below to read all about it…

I know if we retweet Hugh Jackman enough that he will donate this money to March of Dimes… and just think how uplifting this will be for Mike and Heather Spohr during this difficult time they are going through. This gives them something to push for in honor of Maddie so other families don’t have to go through what they have had to go through.  Please read the blog below it is very touching and shows how much this means to Heather and Mike Spohr
